The painted horse is truly a horse of a different colour, distinguished by three different patterns, overo, tobiano and tovero. Descendants of Spanish horses brought to the New World, Paint Horses were important to Native Americans. Later cowboys of the western frontier discovered them for their dependability, cow sense, and of course beauty.
This beautiful model of measures in inches: 12(H) x 9(L). All Breyer Traditional models are sculpted at 1:9 scale and reproduced in cellulose acetate, a high quality plastic. Each model is hand-finished, ensuring that no two models are ever exactly alike and each horse is hand-painted by up to twenty different artisans.
